    本句的难点是对状语等修饰性成分中嵌套宾语从句的理解。这个句子中 mostly in what are … and the Middle Atlantic states 虽然整体是作状语,但是介词 in 后面的宾语是一个由 what 引导的从句。由从句充当宾语的子句叫做宾语从句,所以 what 引导的依然是宾语从句。它与 mostly in … in the United States 整体做句子的状语不冲突。

    这道题被拆的很惨,搞不清and后边到底跟谁并列。 and是主句的一部分而不是从句的内容。

    spring up 涌现,出现,萌芽 介词后面必须用What引导宾语从句 介词本身后面应该加名词结构成介宾短语,当名词不足以表达意思的时候,就用名词性从句代替名词跟在介词后面 , 那么从句就是宾语从句
