    本句的难点在于一些单词看上去很难,比如 Indo-European,Neolithic Anatolia,the Don and Dnieper rivers等词,影响了我们的阅读。实际上这些词只是表示时间和地点的专用名词,完全可以用简写词或者字母代替,一些比较复杂的修饰结构也可以先简化,比如原句可以缩减为:Such theories imply that IE languages evolved not in A, but among B, which took up stock breeding and began to exploit the neighboring steppes. 这样简化之后句子就非常容易理解了。
