一般情况下，人们进行讨论采取的方式有发送邮件or短信讨论，或者打电话语音信息甚至视频讨论，还有的时候是面对面的讨论问题，比如当我在学术上出现疑惑的时候，而且对我来说并不是十分紧急，这个时候我会需要向老师来求助答案，尽管老师每周都有office hour ，但是那样面对的两三个小时并不能时刻帮助随时都可能出现疑惑的我，所以这个时候我回选择发邮件来向老师求助。
原因，一个是因为我面临的是令人讨厌或者有争议的学术问题，所以如果我要解释自己的困惑需要一定的时间和信息量，发邮件不失为一个好选择，它能帮我把表达的信息梳理清楚，而且可以减少老师面对面解答的时间，对于我和老师来说都更加的方便，有效率。而且这样请教问题也不会打扰到有可能正在开会或者在家休息的老师。 他开完会或者休息结束后，查看邮箱的时候，就可以帮我解答。

Whether in work or in study, we will face various headache or controversial issues,and different ways of communication chosen lead to diverse outcomes.In my opinion,I prefer to sending email or text messages while dealing with a controversial problem in life or study.
Sending emails or SMS can make the controversial issues of communication more efficient and convenient. As a student, We often confront controversial or annoying problems, which requires individuals to discuss in order to the answer. And large amount of information is needed to explain a complex issue clear. For such problem,emails could be sent to different persons in a convenient and efficient way.
By email or SMS way to discuss controversial issues,it can reduce the possibility of disturbing others. For example, when I need to discuss a controversial problem I encountered with my teacher,I will send an email because it would disturb him immediately .On the contrary,I would not consult the problem with the teacher through the phone directly ,which is likely to bother the teacher.Even if I do, usually a controversial problem is required a lot of time to discuss, If the teacher then has a meeting to attend,he probably can't use such a short period time to resolve my doubts,and even may be late for the meeting due to the discussion with me.
In summary, although for solving problems in the daily life, phone or voice is a relatively more direct and rapid means of communication, but comparatively speaking, to solve the controversial issue, email or SMS can avoid a lot of trouble of phone or voice.
Therefore, When it comes to controversial issues, the choice of email or SMS is a better way.
