Almost everyone is eager to succeed at least in a specific realm. We receive education from elementary school to college or even higher only to cultivate the aptitude to think, study and gather useful information. We should admit that the accidental factors do exist, the qualities and the way we choose, however, are the final determinant to the success. Someone may deem that the convergence, rather than divergence to the way most people assume would satisfy most of the public. But in order to succeed, from my point of view, we should be more different from everyone else.
Unlike ordinary people, successful people have a spirit of persistence. But such persistence is not deaf and blind, but a steadfast heart under enough investigations and confidence to the prospective market. It is known worldwide that Alibaba makes Jack Ma, once an English teacher, to be world famous. Ten or more years ago, he foreboded the visionary of B2B or C2C business based on the convenience and incredible efficiency of e-commerce, and the enormous Chinese people and their future purchasing power. Therefore he persisted although everyone else, including his father, asserted that it was impossible in China.
Among the people successful, despite the assiduous and self-disciplined characteristics they share, each individual must have their distinguished shining-points. For example, Steve Jobs was strict in every step of the product--iPhone--and determined to make it the best smartphone in the world. His hard-working and highly execution enabled his success. However, those are not sufficient. He was obsessed  in aesthetics of his product mainly due to his study on calligraphy in college. And he also focused so much on the outline of the product. It was the detail that made iPhone popular and Jobs succeed.
Anyone who has succeeded are usually distinctively stouthearted because it is demanding for a person to bear the difference with others and the loneliness it results in. Such quality is a necessity for success. The classic empirical theory, a stem of philosophy, can perfectly give an explanation. It states that any factor which is contradictory to a general indisputable system will be refuted. That means one who follows the common routine will be safe in any situation, whereas one who alter the certain path will either blunder or create a miracle. Thus in order to create a miracle, we have to be very brave to emancipate from the restrictions and make breakthroughs.
Admittedly, to be more like others helps to raise more support and become likely to make some achievements in the short term and get credit from people who have identical ideas. But you would not make great success in the long term. Under any circumstances couldn't we lose our creativity. The best way to be creative is to focus on one direction and persevere in accumulating new knowledge and techniques, and try to employ them in our own fields at every moment.
