From a human nature aspect, people are used to follow others thought and behavior in order to get the feeling of safety and be avoidance of loneliness. We cannot conceal the fact that be more like others will keep us the path to finish something which would not lead to failure. But doubtfully, is this the way to be successful? In my opinion, being different is more a way to success. Being different means more willing to break through the traditional mindset which will lead to more new chances. It is always a very apposite instance to talk about Jack Ma, the former CEO of Alibaba, the biggest e-commerce company in the world. Looking back to 90s of the 20th century, the e-business was still being filled with business to business, where the company had a stable transitional relationship. At that time, the businessmen were not adjusted in doing business online so that the industry was growing at a low speed. Seeing this phenomenon, Jack Ma considered that it should enter the area of customer to consumer e-commerce, which almost no one be optimistic about because there is nearly no profit in it. Nonetheless, Jack insisted that as long as the citizen's behavior of shopping online be cultivated, the e-commerce is able to bloom in China. He didn't care about how much he can earn at that time but focus on providing a good environment for the individual businessman. The very distinctive thought of Taobao, which is the biggest e-commerce platform in the world, witnessed the success of Jack Ma-- more than 10 billion incomes per year. Another good example can be laid in Steve Jobs, the incredible former CEO of Apple company. In 1980s, the computers provided by the traditional manufacture like IBM were designed for the professional users which were well trained for the computer language. Totally disagreeing with this, Steve Jobs thought the computer should be easy to understand and easy to use by normal people but not for computer fancier. As a consequence, he and his teammates designed the Apple II which was so easy to use in the graphical interface with the beautiful and simple appearance. And the Apple II was sold more than 6 million totally in the next 16 years in various marketing model which launched the personal computer industry. Apart from grasping new opportunity, being different can lead to innovation as well in the debate on existing thought. Japanese company Hitachi owned a factory in Hokkaido for manufacturing fans using at home. However, the factory didn't earn any fortune due to the single product line and bad sales. As the manager noticed that the native farmer grew crops in shed, where need air exchange equipment, he decided to manufacture the fan providing for the shed. One day, the CEO came and found that they are doing irrelevant work and shouted to the manager that he should be ordered and do what he is told to do. Nonetheless, the manager didn't agree with that and start a debate on the fact that the shed fan had a fair sale at that time. Till now, this factory has become the only one to produce industrial fan in Japan of which the manager is very successful. In a whole, being different does not mean we should always act in an opposite way to what others do but being independent thinking and breaking the rules. In this competitive society, being different is a very essential thing to be grasped new opportunities and being successful.
