1. 请列举你的专业课程,以及你选择的非本专业领域的其他课程,并分析这些可课程对你的意义。
回答: 我的专业是新闻学,需要学习的有新闻写作以及编辑等,但我个人也会选择其他的课外课程诸如多媒体技术应用。这门课能够帮助我应对新兴的网络媒体中的新闻编辑,扩展我对新闻的了解与知识面。
2. 从大学生现在以及以后的学习、工作、生活的各种需求来看,哪些能力或者知识是他们需要具备的?这些知识和能力需要通过怎样的教育形式来获得?
回答: 除了大学的专业技能外,大学生的社交能力,独立思考学习能力,生活工作常识也是必须具备的。社交能力必须通过大学的社会活动或者校外活动习得,独立思考学习能力则只能通过自主学习的方式习得,生活工作常识则是个人在生活或者工作中逐渐积累而成的,大多是校园内无法习得的技能。
3. 仅学习自己专业领域的课程对大学生来说是否足够?如果是,请说明理由;如果不是,这样的行为对大学生的发展有哪些局限性?
回答: 仅仅学习自己专业领域的课程对大学生来说并不足够,原因是在现代社会知识体系往往存在交叉性,如果只学习自己领域的知识,在工作之后很大可能出现专业知识不够用,无法胜任工作的现况。比如学新闻学,只需要学习如何进行新闻采访、编辑、写作等,但新闻学涉及的其他学科领域广泛,如想要进行经济新闻报道,则必须要懂得金融学等相关知识。
4. 自己专业领域外的其他课程可以带给大学生哪些影响?(可从正面影响、负面影响以及直接和间接影响来考虑)
回答: 可能会带来的正面影响:扩大大学生知识面,促进大学生对其他专业知识的学习与了解,提高个人能力。比如专门学习小语种的学生,如果同时学习其他专业知识如金融学知识,能够起到帮助其了解学习语种国家的经济状况,扩大对该国家了解的目的;负面影响:对本专业产生懈怠或者厌恶情绪,从而不愿意继续学习本专业知识,如在中国,许多学习理科如数学、物理的学生会更愿意去学习其他相关专业,不愿意继续学习本学科知识。
5. 社会如何定义“人才”的标准?大学教育应该如何设置课程才能更好地培养“人才”?请举例说明。
回答: 社会对人才的定义,应该是:人格足够完善,具有一定的专业素养以及敬业精神。譬如,现在许多大学生在大三便会去找实习,其中许多公司的高管表现出了对大学生的不满,“尽管他们大多来自于重点大学,但他们骄傲自大不可一世,且经常迟到早退,不愿意做零碎的活,没有把自己摆在正确的位置。另一方面,他们在大学学习的知识在社会上许多是无用的,无法用到实际工作中,必须要重新学习。”大学在课程设置上,应当与社会需要对接,提高学生对专业知识的应用能力,同时还应当设置正确的心理教育与职业前期培训课程,帮助完善大学生人格与修养。

Nowadays, there is a trend that in universities, there is an increasing number of specialized majors due to the detailed division of labor and the development of the society, which rises a concern that the range of knowledge students learn from their major can barely cover their works after graduation. To cope with such situation, many universities put forward such policy that students are forced to take extra lessons while studying their majors. However, debate arises about whether universities should force their students to learn knowledge and take lessons beyond their major.
As far as I am concerned, I high recommend that students take lessons outside their field of study for the reason that there is likely to be limitation within the major they learn and the knowledge they absorb in their major are not enough for them to handle their future work. For instance, students who majored in Journalism can only learn techniques about how to interview, write newsletters and editor news. They are not taught about professional knowledge in the content of news. While they are watching a political or economical news, they can not see into the news and discover the true meanings inside the news. It is not uncommon that students in Journalism are rejected from news work for they are not equipped with knowledge like economics, politics, sports and the media company are more acceptable for students who majors in Economics and Politics and so on. It is because as the development of news industry, the news began specialized into various of kinds and students only with knowledge about general news are not competent for the job. Such limitation not only exist in Journalism, but  also exist in other field of studies.Take people who majored in Physics for example, if they want to get higher achievement in their major, they can not manage to bypass the field of Maths.
The second reason why I recommend students take lessons outside their field of study is that taking other lessons can help to find their interests, enlarge their knowledge range and build up their well-rounded knowledge system. In Beijing XueYuan Road, there are 16 universities which consist of a university committee for students to take apt lessons from  inside the committee. Each student are required to fulfill more than 5 lessons chosen from other universities. This policy help students to take lessons their university can not provide and lessons they are interested in. By doing so, students learn knowledge they can not get from their field of study and also build up their interest in other field, assisting them to enlarge and perfect their knowledge system. What's more, with enough knowledge without their field of study, they are unlocked with careers that are irrelevant to their major and get more chooses when landing jobs.
Although it is true that students should learn well in their field of study, with the growing need for comprehensive talents in the society, students who singly take courses within their field of study is hard to meet the need of the society and will hinder their future development. Thus, I stand firmly on my point that students should take courses outside their field of study for landing a better job and for self-development.
