Lots of things need to be done to guarantee a machine to work well. Not only must every gear be in good condition, but also they have to cooperate with each other. Accordingly, to make a society better off, lots of factors need to be considered. The statement raises a serial of problems including education, cooperation, and so on. From my perspective, although socialized children can bring society great benefit, they are not sufficient for a better society.
 
To begin with, a notion of socialized children includes varied respects, such as cooperation, critical thinking and so on. According to common sense, children with such characteristics can contribute a lot to society. First of all, Cooperation measures a person's ability to work with others, share information in attaining a final goal. In modern society, with influx of information, it is merely impossible for a person to gather all information he needs- let alone to use them in achieving a final goal. Thus, socialized children who know how to cooperate with others can integrate different parts in a group or adjust jobs between different groups to get work done in the progress of achieving the final goal. Secondly, children with the ability of critical thinking can correct our mistakes and improve our society. From Harvey's theory of circulation of blood to Copernicus's discovery of the heliocentric ordering of the planets, historical stories tell us the functional role critical thinking- in other word, socialized children who have the ability- has in finding and correcting mistakes and improving the society. Admittedly, socialized children are qualified to improve our society.
 
However, as complex a society system is, there are also varied of other elements that influence the advancement of society. Such elements, including government policy, market condition, and international situation, sometimes have a more basic role in social improvement because children even well socialized children are still too young to influence the direction of society. One compelling example is the so-called" Star Wars" defense initiative operated in America during 1980s.  According to the projection, rather than addressing the instant problem, such as low literacy rate, poor social welfare and so on, the government decided to pour millions of dollars into weapon manufacturing needed for the so-called coming star wars. At the end of the plan, however, there is no star war, but a society full of violence, crime and disease. At the same time, socialized or would-be socialized children either go bad, which caused the society even more problem, or just leaving things aside without the ability to change.
 
Moreover, how to raise socialized children is still a complex question for us. Nowadays, schools tend to treat children as goods, which are needed by the market-in other word, society. Children have been forced to the ocean of knowledge under a very high pressure. Rather than thinking of things in original ways, they are forced to certain ways used by their predecessors. Their ability of critical thinking has been disencouraged to a great extent. What’s more, under a competitive system with high pressure, there is no fundament for cooperation. They regard their peers as enemies, they spare no efforts to beat others in the progress of advancement, sometimes even with a cost of compromise of their moral standard- let alone they will work with others and share their scarce information. 
 
In sum, although socialized children can bring benefits to our society, they are not sufficient to achieve this goal. Moreover, with the problem in raising socialized children, on one hand, we should do whatever we can to raise socialized children, on the other hand, other factors must be taken into consideration to make our society a better place.
