Should every student learn a course outside the student's field of study?  The author considers that taking more course means you broaden your horizon and you would have more chance to get a good job when you apply a job with high well-fare.  Indeed, I admit that you can broaden your horizen when you are learning a course and it might be true that you are more competitable than others who just only learned major class when you applying a career, however, I partly disagree with that author's idea that every one should take a course outside the student's field.  In my opinion, not every one should do that, these people could not take course outside their fields.
There is no doubt that taking some outside our field course would do good to us, because in the progress we are taking some of course we can broaden our horizen, even recognize one question form a high level, as well as we can peer into a question in a profound angle. Also, taking a course outside one's field could improve one's ability to solve problems.  Such as, a students whose major is literature, while he or she chose math or logic to be his or her course outside his or her field, thus he or she could improve the cogence of logic of themselives.  When they met with a tough problem, they would find out some clues to solve the problem, otherwise, they have to ask for help from other people.  Addictively, students whose major is math or physic, if they chose a forgein languish as their course, then they could read some sophiscated magzine such as " Nature" " Science" readly, which did benefit to do profound researches.
In addition, taking some different fields of study is benefical to success,or getting a well-fare position.  Because, taking different fields of study and we learned well can prove you have a strong ability of learning which is campanies needed.  On the other hand, when you reach successes which in differnent fileds, people would believe you are blazing.  For instance, Leonardo da Vinci, he is a atist, architecter, engeneer, and mathist. He is one of the most amazing artisits in the world, even in today his works still attract many scientists to research the pith of his works, such as Mona Lisa and Uomo vitruviano. Uomo vitruviano have a profound affluence to today, which he displaied the perfact scale of human elaborately. That why Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most famlous arists in the world.
Despite the advantage of taking a course outside one's field of study, we should recognize disadvantages of it at the same time, execptially to those who couldn't arrange himself or herself schedual.Thus, some of students would fail to gather a systemlic knowledge of this course outside their field of study and also they haven't enough time to learn their own major.  Even though they broaden their horizen indeed, they only obtain a surperfical knowledge of their outside field of their study course, what's worst, their major.  So these students who couldn't arrange their time reasonly, they had better devote energy to their major.
In generalized speaking, not every students should take courses outside the student's field of study.  Those who could arrange their schedule reasonly should taking course outside their field of study, on other words, those who did excellent in their major should taking the courses, or vice versa.
