College is a choice for most people nowadays. Some people argues that  college students cannot learn practical skills but academic ones. As far as I am concerned, people should attend college to the best of their ability, because college can teach people a lot of things.   First of all, colleges provide opportunities and circumstances for students to grasp knowledge. As the well-known saying goes,"knowledge change fate." Store of knowledge is an integral foundation for work or study deeply. An ordinary people can be a pivotal figure in a group if he can make fully and appropriately use of his store of knowledge; a genius can also be a loser without knowledge. For example, Thomas Edison, the famous American inventor, was not regarded as a genius when he was young. However, he succeed at last and said that "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration."   What is more, colleges do favors in improving personal relationship. Colleges students make friends of diverse backgrounds,but with the same interests. Sharing same classes, rooms and groups,  students can talk about same topics. Same topics provide opportunities for students to be closer and then friends. Same topics are vital "elements" in social intercourse. Skillfully mastering of making same topics make it easier for people to improve personal relationship. People who are skillful in making same topics could be successful in their jobs. Buck Rodgers, the former vice president of marketing of IBM, once said that a seller who knows a lot about clients would succeed by drawing closer with same topics.     Finally,college teach students values which could do great favors in their future.It is the moral, positive value, that universities could teach students. Students could grasp values of hard work, kindness, fairness and so on. These values play an important role in life. A genius can be a "success" from his point of view, but a genius cannot become a real success without moral. For example, Adolf Hitler was genius as a politician, strategist and orator, but he was not regarded as a hero or a great man in the world like Churchill, because he grasped the value of racism which hold the idea that Master race shall have the right to slavery and even destroy inferior race and slaughtered the Jewish people.   A college could play an crucial role in someone's life, so attending a college is a smart choice.
