However, some critics announced that these developments not only didn't supply more leisure time which betray its design purpose but also make life more rushed and frantic than ever before. In my opinion, these developments surely save time and can bring some little difficulties, and what the time be used has none business with the development. As the symbols of the technological instruments, instant foods, instant communication and faster transportation have made a significant contribution to optimize people's life. McDonald's is a typical instant food company and its fast food such as hamburgers are very popular around the world and more convenient than traditional dinner. In instant communication area, telephone is a landmark. It makes the moving communication possible and largely widen people's living area. In addition, faster transportation undoubtedly save too much people life and make the world as a whole village. One hundred years ago, people who traveled from China Jilin province to Beijing would cost a month, but now it just cost 1 hour and 40 minutes by airplane. If we have more time, must we have more leisure time? I don't think so for the reason that leisure time is not equal to time. Leisure time is, as people usually say, in part time out of work, except to meet the physical needs and family living expenses such as labor needs, the remaining individuals under the discretionary time. So it is decided by what the people's attitude about life is rather than how much time they have. If some people's goal is to reach the top of work career or is a workaholic, he will contribute all his energy to working no matter how much time he has. The same as that if a person's life target is just have a happy and idle life, he will leave himself much for leisure no matter how busy he is. Many critics comment on the internet that these technological developments not only didn't supply more leisure time which betray its design purpose but also make life more rushed and frantic than ever. For this reason, they argue that technology can only make life into a mass. This a ridiculous thought because that no one can force people use the saved time for leisure. Many people will use the saved time to their work rather than for leisure because of subjective and objective reasons. For subject reasons, people in order to have more income and live a happier life, they want to spend more time and energy on their work, looking forward to be promoted. For the objective reasons, the society are more and more competitive and the economic globalization is more frequent, all of these factors make the more pressure on workers' shoulders. So they have no choice to spend more time and be more efficient. Although some new technology bring some little problems to people such as internet crime followed by the internet, technology make more contributions than problems. So that's why I think that technology bring us convenience rather than complexity.
