People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
 
   In the past, only a little people chose to attend university after graduating from high school, like my father, he even didn't complete his high school courses and then switched to trade some building and decoration materials to make money. But now, it is very different, most students select to go on their studies in university. As I think, there are several reasons to interpret the phenomena.
   First of all, college could be a place for people to find out who they are and where they are going. In university, students are not only able to learn various knowledge but also to attend all kinds of practical activities, which could help them find what they were interested in and even their lifelong career directions. As my experience, four-year's college life promoted me to fulfill my master's study mainly in marine environmental science, and now I decide to apply for a PHD position to go on my study in the same research area.
   Also, other students may take it as a path to find a good job in the future. As you know, with the development of the socity, college diploma is required by more and more corporations. So, it could make you more competitive in the workplace with the experience of college life.
   The influence from parents could be another motivation. With more cognition of the importance of knowledge, many parents hope that their children would attend university, which always means a good promise in their eyes. And some parents even send their children to university abroad for a better education, although it would become far away for them to meet.
