I agree with the claimer that government should offer students who can not afford the tuition free university education. Higher education aims to provide the country with qualified talents. Giving affordable education to students from poor families can help getting more people admitted to university and fulfill social equity. However, free education should not be applied as a one-size-fits-all measure. Inappropriate implementation may lead to waste of resources. Only if the government analysis problems in different ways can the implementation of free education produce the best results.The financial relationship between the government and universities varies by countries. In my country China, almost every university is financially supported by the government revenue while half of the universities are privately-sponsored. As a non-profitable organization, university has the responsibility to cultivate talents for the society. The talents universities provided can facilitate the development of the country in return.
