Knowing about the past is meaningful for people to make important decisions nowadays although the world today is significantly more complex than before. The development of technology makes the world changing fast. Many production of technology never existed in the past such as computer, mobile phone or Internet. It seems that there is a big discrepancy between the world today and past, however, all these things are just the results of the global progression, the inherent rules of living for human being never changes. History is a mirror for people to see themselves clearly.
Some of the decisions today are quite similar compared with the past ones. Historical problem can be taken as an example. During the past hundreds of years, many countries had been combined or become independent. The America was independent from the colony of the United Kingdom; The two Germanys combined with each others after the breaking up of the Soviet Union. The solutions of those countries in the past above are beneficial for the territory problems at present such as Taiwan.
Moreover, war is a kind of significant problem in history regardless of age and the complexity of the world. Due to the economic crisis, people in the past used the war as an approach successfully solving it but with painful cost. During the world war, more than a hundred million people in the world were involved and the people in Japan still live under the impact of the nuclear radiation nowadays. Similar global finacial crisis exists nowadays, therefore, studying history especially the war can give people, who live today, a chance to learn a lesson for avoiding the war and giving peace to the world and people no matter what happens.
Nevertheless, some experiences in the past mislead the people today indeed. In the mind of every basketball fun, Michael Jordan is the No.1 basketball player who led Chicago Bull won six championships of the NBA during his career. The role of all stars is undisputed, but there was a powerful team behind him. If somebody thought that one star player can lead to the champion, he must be wrong. In a word, even though the world changes remarkably, the mean of development of human beings never changes.
