本题为老GRE的ISSUE66原题。题目讨论科技对人类影响的话题，题目分为两部分：第一部分陈述了一个大家都接受的事实——“人们越来越多的依赖于靠科技解决问题”；第二部分以这个事实为基础，给出了“依赖于科技必然会降低人类自我思考能力”的判断。题目不难理解，相关事例也有很多，分析时应当注意以下两点：
1、论述中始终要与“人们的自我思考能力”以及“解决问题”相关联，无论是讨论科技的正面作用还是负面作用，都应当以“有利于自我思考”或“有碍于自我思考”为方向。
2、可以静止独立的去对比分析，同时也可以采用动态发展的眼光去分析，影响程度的变化以及新情况的出现都可能会对判断产生影响。

1. 人们在平时的生活、工作、学习的过程中，都面对哪些问题？解决这些问题的方法都有什么？请结合具体事例简述。
回答：
The problems people encounter during their life,work,and study can be classfied into two categories:those relating to people and those not.For instance,how to get along well with your new roommate or how to please the ones you think to be important,are problems relating to people,whereas how to write a program of high quality or how to obtain a high score in the GRE test ,have nothing to be with other people.Therefore,the methods to tackle problems of different kinds differs a lot.
For those problems with other people involved,sometimes you may remove certain barriers between individuals by communicating more earnestly and effectively,thus making the problems addressed.Also,you can ask other people who do not get involved in the situation for advice,which might help you resolve the problem as well.
By contrast,to tankle problems without other people involved ,you may have to use distinct strategies under some cirrumstances.For example,when I find something is wrong with a program I have just composed,I have no choice but to work it out all by myself,because the people around me know little about programming and I cannot ask others for help.Another simple but widely-used strategy could be effective in many cases:go to search for an approach in the library,where contains a multitude of books.
2. 人们解决问题的方法在科技帮助下，在哪些方面得到了改进和突破？和原方法相比有了怎样的提高？效果如何？请结合具体事例简述。
回答：
1.With the help of technology,human beings have made amazing breakthrough in history,and we can do many things that cannot be done without technology.For example,pratically everyone in the cities today has access to telephones and is able to talk to their family members and friends over a long distance,while people living five centuries ago could not communicate in this way.
2.Some hazardous work could now be done by machines without intervention of individuals:consider the process of digging for nuggets,which could be now accomplished by machines rather than people.This could be beneficial to the safety of people.
3.Individuals could do some work more efficiently.Many kinds of work could be done by computers,such as write a program to perform some complex scientific calculation rather than do it manually,and people could have more time to do things that are more significant.
3. 人类的自我思考的能力在什么场合或者情况下会被用到？要思考哪些问题？请结合具体事例简述。
回答：
1.When there is no tools to make use of ,individuals have to think on their own.For example,if you got lost in a forest and your cellphone could not work,you must work out a way to survive.
2.You have to think independently when you want to compose a masterpiece in art.You could not make great compositions unless you could think on your own.
3.You have to solve problems about people's feeling and emotions yourself,which is about the inner soundness of people.
4. 科技能否代替思考能力？如果能，请举例；如果不能，为什么？
回答：
It depends on what kind of abilities to think.Some abilities needs creative imagination of people,and this could not be replaced by technology,a example of which is the composition of fantastic music,whereas there also exist some abilities that could be replaced by technology,for example,the ability to do some repetitive calculation could be replaced by technology
5. 有哪些原因会导致人类自我思考能力衰退？这些原因有哪些是科技造成的？思考能力的衰退与科技之间存在必然联系么？
回答：
1.Some people are lazier and do not think about any problem for a long time.And this could be detrimental to people's thinking abilities.
2.The environmental situations of some places are aggravating,which may harm people health both physically and mentally .In fact,some people's brain are unfortunately injured by their surroundings.Consequently,the ability of some people would be harmed permernantly.
3.Many people have to keep occupied with a great deal of monotonous work to survive in the society and they hardly have time to think anything.If this lasts for a long time,their abilities to think would be damaged to a large extent.
I have to confess that ,on one hand, with the comfort and convenience technology has brought us ,many of us get lazier to think about some kinds of problems .On the other hand,the technology saves us a lot of time and enable us to think more complex problem of other kinds.Therefore,I tend to believe that there is no definite link between the technology and the deterioration of individuals' abilities to think.

As technology bring individuals from all walks of life comfort and convenient ,an argument arose that the more we become dependent on technology,the weaker of ability of thinking for ourselves would become.I could not agree with this argument and I tend to believe that although it appears we rely more and more on technology in our life and we need not try to solve many problems ourselves,technology in fact make humans think more and thus giving an impetus to the development of ability of thinking independently.
Economical and time-saving as technology is,we have much more time available than before.Using computers,we are able to finish some work which was once thought to be impossible to accomplish:Numerous astronomical calculations could now be performed just within a few minutes,and all we need to do is compose a computer program and run it on the computer.This amazing boost in efficiency frees people from various mechanical work which must have been done manually were it 50 years ago,which enables individuals to pay more attention to other problems requiring people's intelligence.In this way,technology contribute to more independent thinking of ours.
What is more,technology itself is a chanllenging problem for humans to address.By this way I mean ,how to better the technology thereby bringing our life more convenience and saving more time is a critical problem for us to think over,and this is certainly to be true because humans constantly seek better ways to live our lives.Therefore,we would definitely try to improve the technology currently in use and work out another newer version,which would not be the end but another beginning of innovation.Another factor we must take into consideration is that,as technology becomes increasingly complex,many of them are difficult to handle and individuals have to think on their own more in order to master the skill to utilize it.
Additionally,the fact that technology has brought us a lot of new problems that would not have happen provided that technology never existed could not be denied.The proliferation of technology has caused a series of serious problems such as the unemployment ,global warming ,air pollution etc. .Having no choices but to face these thorny problems,human beings spare no effort to survive and make the world better.Obviously,pratically all of the problems are rather complex ,and a great deal of thinking must be done,which would eventually benefit our ability to think on our own.
