A new environment is often full of challenges and opportunities, and other new things that you have never experienced, such as the cultural, food,  people and their way of thinking. Although the new environment is often sybombolized as a brand new start for most people, I believe that the ability to adapt to a new environment has more effect for jobs than excellent knowledge.
Admittedly, in some special fields, the excellent knowledge show great improvement over the ability to adapt the new environment. The most dramatic example of these jobs are doctors, lawers or scientists etc. These subjects are built with the capability of applying the specific knowledge just as a house is built with bricks. Without the skillfully knowledge, we could not build such a good society.Whereas, in a period characterized by fast-developed era of information, everything in the world are all in the change. Seen from jobs, it is easy to find that people are changing their jobs now and then. Therefore the competence of adapting a new environment behave more favourable for a job.
The capacity of acclimateing to a new environment enables people to perform well in management and marketing. And such jobs that require an outstanding interpersonal skill and eloquence also demand their employers to become accustomed to a new environment as soon as possible. Take a marketing manager for example, he/she will go on a business trip now and then to negotiate with other company. Obviously, the manager who possess the well ability of adapting to an environment act more impressive than those who own excellent knowledge.   
In sum, alone with the social progress and development of times,the capacity of adapting to a new environment behave more advantages than the excellent knowledge.
