When people are confronted with choosing a career, they always think about a question "should we choose a job that is similar to our parents?" Is it helpful that we do something our parents did? In fact, what people want is a promising job and promising career. As far as I am concerned, considering that, it is not better for children to choose jobs like their parents. Here are some of my reasons and examples as following. First of all, the most important factor about choosing a job is choosing the job that fits us, which is nothing to do with what our parents do. We are not the copy of our parents, we have our own characteristics, our own personalities and our own interestings. So, there is no so-called right choice or wrong choice, there is only suitable choice. We can learn the working direction from our parents of course, but we also can find our way from our teachers, our friends, our relatives, which have so many different backgrounds. These various opinions can provide us different ways to think about our caeers and start with something new. For example, my cousin is a pianist, however, his parent are not musicians. He choosing playing piano as his career becasue he is so inspired by his music teacher. And now, he enjoys what he does. In addition, hardworking is nessesary to reach our goals, and again, this is not related to what our parent jobs are. No matter what job we choose, we must work hard and try our best to have a unregretful career for sure. If we choose jobs similar to our parents, we may believe we can get help in some degree, and we do not dig deep. Or we may have negtive mentalities, and waste our time and energy. On the contrary, if we choose jobs unlike our parents', we know we are on our own, we cannot depend on anyone but ourselves. Because of that, our job choices will encourage us to try our best to make our careers count. I take my classmate, Alex as example. His parents are farmers, they do not go to school in their lives. However, he is working so hard, and he ranked No. one of our major in academical working all four years in college. Admittedly, there is no way around the fact that choosing the jobs similar to our parents has its own advantages, such as my can get help from our parents, we have a lot in conmmon with our parents and so forth. In contrast, this similar job can also bring some problems like our mind are narrowed by our parents thoughts, which we cannot think out of the box, and we talk about work when we work, we talk about work when we have spare time. Compared with its disadvantages, the advantages are minor. All in all, from what has been discussed above, i can safely draw a conclusion that it is not better to pick a job like our parents'. It is because we need successful careers by choosing a suitable career that our parents may not know what we like, what we are good at and working hard. So, do something different and make some differences.
