With high technology developing, we can choose so many ways to communicate, such as using telephone, sending texts, delivering e-mails and so forth. So when we talk about upsetting or controversial problems with others, which communicating tool should we use? It is believed by young adults that sending messages are convient. But when it comes to something controversial and upsetting, using e-mail or text messaging is still a smart choice? As far as I am concerned, when we discuss controversial problem, we should use telephone or at least voicemassage. My point of view is based on following reasons and examples. To begin with, discussing controversial problems through telephone or voicemassage can save a lot of time. Obviously, it will cost so much time when we argue a controversial problem, especially when two speakers hold different opinions. People can communicate with speaking it out directly, and do not have to type word by word. Just imagine this, a person says a viewpoint that you do not agree with, and you want to refute it immediately. However, you choose to send him a message. What a waste of time! In addition, talking by telephone or voicemassage can convey your idea the way exactly how you think about. When you communicate by telephone, you can hear the speaker's tone, pitch and attitude. It is really crucial to get the idea of the message because sometimes you may misunderstand the information of the message. For instance, when i was in college, i texted to a classmate about asking him to hand in his homework. Surprisely, he texted to me with" none of your business". And a few minutes later, he came to me and handed in his homework. I was confused by his behavior, so i asked him why did him say none of my business. He said, it is the way he talk to people, and he forgot to type "lol". I feel speachless. Adimittedly, there is no way around the fact that using e-mail or text messaging to discuss controversial problem has its own advantages. For example, you can revise again and again before you sent. However, youcannot get the fedback soon, not everyone check their e-mail box all the time. Even worse, sometimes you text message may give the wrong idea of you argument, and because of that you may not get the fedback. All in all, based on what has discussed above, I can safely draw a conclusion that we should discuss controversial problem by telephone. It is not only because by discussing through telephone can save a lot of time, but also because telephone can express what exactly you want to say. So, let us talk about upsetting issue by phone more.
