本题为老GRE的ISSUE216，和老GRE的ISSUE192 "Success in any realm of life comes more often from taking chances or risks than from careful and cautious planning"有相通之处。是在讨论成功偶然性的问题，题目认为在创作或发现的过程中偶然性占了很多作用。在分析的过程中，可以集合不同时期和学科的不同情况，从影响成功的各种因素、其偶然性和必然性、机遇在成功中所起的作用等方面展开思考。需要注意：
1、题目给出的模糊范文（大多数重大发现或创造）不需要过多考虑特殊个例；
2、题目给定了偶然的条件——“为一个问题寻找答案的时候碰巧发现另一个问题的答案。”

DNA双螺旋结构（double helix structure）的发现：沃森Watson 和克里克Crick的成功凭借的是一种稀缺的想像力,而不是艰苦的实验数据收集白炽灯的发明：爱迪生Thomas Edison 坚持不懈的实验，一千多种灯丝材料filament materials。飞机的发明：靠的是莱特兄弟（Wright Brothers）的想象力和付诸实践，不断尝试的能力
3. 发现和创造是否存在必然性？如果有，请结合具体事例阐述其必然性。如果没有，请分析原因。
回答：
发现没有必然性（不是说所有的发现都是偶然的），因为首先一部分发现是偶然的，如上所述，但是相对来说只是少数的。另外一部分可能是因为发明者内心有某种想法然后付诸实验的来的，也可能是在前人实验的基础上受启发而来。从整个人类发展来说，这些发明都是伴随的，是与人类发展的轨迹密切联系的，而如果历程不一样，发明也会有所区别。，
