Watching movies and TVs has become an integral part of themodern life. Many young people choose towatch TVS and movies at their free time and exercise less, which bring themmany health problems. However, despite these health issues, as far as I amconcerned, watching movies could have some benefits on young people.First , watching movies provide the audience with a greatdeal of useful information and help them broaden the horizon, thus becomingerudite in fields of science, art and culture. Many sci-fi movies havescientific backgrounds and therefore are effective sources of scientific factsand theories. The Big Bang Theory, as named, contains physics knowledge aboutString Theory and the big bang theory. Time Travel is based on Einstein’sGeneral Theory of Relativity. The Da Vinci Code shows us the beauty ofMONALISA. Kong Fu Panda teaches children about the Chinese culture. With allthese masterpieces, there is no doubt that watching TV programs and movies wouldcast positive effects on young people.second, enjoying moviesgives a character education to youth, shaping their personality.Unintentionally, young people will learn some virtue, which is elusive throughreading books. For instance, I watched the Japanese movie Spirited Away when Iwas young. In the film，the protagonist, ChihiroOgino entered a spirit world. After her parents transformed into pigs for theirgluttony, she fought to find a way to free herself and her parents and returnto human world. Through her passage from children to adulthood, I learned a lotabout the friendship and love. The deepimpact cannot happen to me if I only read books about how to cultivatefriendship and love. The film has struck the resonance in the hearts of theyoung viewers across the world and influence them so positively and deeplyhelping them become mature. Admittedly, movies and TVprograms can sometimes contain carnal or violent content. However, with parentssetting strict control over watching that content, I would say there is nothingto worry about. The movies and TV programsare the mentors of young people. It is worthwhile to watch movies often for thebenefits they have
