1、本题很容易因为使用ARGUMENT中“个例不能代表整体”的观点而跑题。要注意，题目所说的是“社会最重要的特征”而不是状况。
2、不要把视角限定在城市的固定事物中，城市之中的商业、人物、活动等等都可以包括进来。

个性：风俗，人口，生活节奏，小城市人烟稀少，慢而简单；大城市热闹，有更多的资源。

社会制度，宗教信仰，历史，风俗，语言，资源，环境，服饰，教育，节日等。风俗就有核心特征。中国的苗族姑娘都穿有装有很多银饰的衣服，他们谈对象通过接歌，过苗年，节日会跳节日特色的舞蹈。
3. 你印象里的大城市都有哪些特点？这些大城市展现了哪些内容是其他地方所不能展现的？可以结合北京、纽约、伦敦、巴黎等城市简单分析。

大城市记录历史，像北京故宫，博物馆。大城市可以体现国家最具特色的资源，一般大多优秀人才汇聚大城市，我们能够欣赏到最优质的资源，例如具有民族特色的歌曲，建筑。

With the explosive development of technology and science, a increasing number of people flow over into major cities. When it comes to understand the most important characteristics of a society, there are always a host of different opinions held by different individuals in different places. Admittly, studing major cities of a nation is the effective way to learn its important characteristics. However, it is overstated that in order to know the most important traits of a society people must study its major cities.
To begin with, it is wildy accepted that people can learn some of the important traits of a community though researching major cities. Big cities of a society has large populations, national government, abundant educational resources and advanced economy, which are crucial to know a society. For instance, Beijing is the political, economical and cultural centre of china. People from abroad can go to the Forbidden City in Beijing, Imperial Palace of Ming and Qing dynasties, to know about china's rich history; People from abroad can go to the Tsinghua and Beijing university, the best school in china located in Beijing, to learn the chinese educational situation; People from abroad also can go to see Beijing opera to understand the chinese traditional opera culture. Some people, thus, arbitrarily get a conclusion that people must study its major cities so as to understand the characteristics of a soceity.
However, there are lots of most important characteristics that are not reflected in major cities. For example, china has 1.3 billion people, which of them living in rural areas occupy two-thirds. How can one says that he has already acquainted himself with china only for he has travelled some major cities in china. Actually, a host of rich chinese culture are not embodied in large cities that most of them have just formed in the past decades. Such as ShenZhen, one of the most economically developed city in china, only has a thirty years of history, which is too negligible to contrast with five thousand years of chinese history. People who want to understand chinese kungfu culture would be better to go to SongSan Shaolin Temple, which is located in mountains far away from cities. In addition, Many chinese minorities who have plenty of special characteristics live in remote areas. Only can one know about the beauty of Uyghur girls when he goes to XinJiang.
Moreover, there are many other effective ways to understand a society besides studing major cities. When people want to familiar with specific society, they can make friends with person who comes from that society, learn about that society's culture through books or internet and travell many areas belonged to that society both major cities and rural areas.
In sum, people can learn one society by studing major cities, but studing major cities is no more than one way to undterstand.
