  The speaker asserts that all parents should be required to volunteer time to their children's schools. I fundamentally agree. In my point of view, I tend to hold that both parents and schools play vital role in the education of children. All parents should teach their children with schools together.
  Admittedly, teachers own much knowledge and experience on education. For that reason, schools have the ability to provide children more scientific and systemic education. For example, there are many teachers whose majors are different in schools. They are professional in their own field like physics, math, chemstry or literature. With the professional knowledge, they can teach children well. However, it is nearly impossible for parents to teach their children about some certain course. So schools are irreplacable in academic education.
  However, schools are not perfect in educating children. The teaching system of schools also have deficiencies. As we all know, every kid has his or her own personalities. Cause there are much more children than teachers, schools are not likely to educate and guide every of them acording to his or her character. For example, children usually meet unhappy things in their life like failing in exams, losing in a game, quarreling with other children and so on. When those happen, teachers have to face the difficulties to give every child right guidance in psychologically.
  Finally, parents can teach and guide their children in disparate ways. According to a sociological research, families can influence children more than schools in emotion, charater, intellect and recoginization. The parents have the responsibility to creat a good atmosphere for their children in order to make them grow happily and healthily. For example, in the <Growing Pains>, Mr. Seaver is a lovely father, he gives good guidances to his children and helps them deal with problems in their life. The image of Mr. Seaver is popular even now. He gives a good example to all parents.
To sum up, I concede that schools play an essential role in educating children. But parents' participation in educating children is also necessary. Each of them is complementary to another. So I fundamentally agree with the speaker.
