With the development of science and technology, the contemporary life have become more complex than do the past time,some people contend that we do not need to study history no matter history is relevant to our daily life. However, from my point of view, history is not reparate, but continuous,and we also can not predict what will happen in the next morning, so we can never know which one is relevant to us.
There is not doubt that the current society have become so complex and colorful,it seems to go against with the past time; The advent of internal combustion engine has introduced a previously unknown realm of the Industrial revolution, it makes our transportation more effiently and conveniently. Likewise, the invention of computers and internet have introduced the information age. we can never know what our society could be without computers and internet.
However, the current society is one of stages of history, the study of history has value to extent that it is relevant to our daily lives. without the past accumulation we can not abtain the rapidly development of science and technology. In the face of global financial crisis, a great number of grandiose schemes have been developed to confront the great depression, including all kinds of saving plans , because they have aborbed experience of the relevant events, such as The Great Depression, To stimulate and spur the depression of the current economic, a great many countries have made and carried out the ecomonic incentive plans, If we never research the past events of history, we can not gain the previous experience.
Furthermore, nowadays,it seems to have nothing to do with the past history for some current events, but when combine with other factors, they can tell us more meaningful and enlightening things. Such as Harriet Tubman and the unterground railroad,if our children want to know about the courage, we could tell them the story of Harriet Tubman, and If we want our children to know about the honesty, they should learn Abe Lincoln walking three miles to return six cents, if we want them know about the persistent of adversity, they should know about the Voyages of Clumbus ,the character of Washington during the revolution, Abraham Lincoln during the civil war.
In addition, we can not predict what will happen in the future, the study of history can help us accumulate more experience to make the similar mistakes. Such as a history of western phlosophy, which is the work of one of the most prominent philosopher, Bertrand Russell. we can learn more about knowledge on philosophy and the character and virtue of many famous philosophy practioners.
In sum, history is not a peice of information and fragment, but a connective and continuous past. No matter whether it is relevant to out daily lives, we could gain more of history than in themselves
