THe disjuction between educational obejectives that emphasize the logic thinking and independence and those that stress the emotional quality reflects a conflict that arises from diffrent values on which these objectives are based.
there is no doubt that logic thinking and critical thinking is indispensable in students' later lives,however, we can also not lose sight of the cultivation of the students' emotion.
It is true that the primary goal of education is to cultivate the students' critical thinking and individuality. And we also can not overlook the importance of critical thinking and logic thinking that play the significant role in students' later lives. My best friend always ask me, why do I want to participate my GRE general test, and even my parents and my brothers also told me that it is not necessary to go abroad to learn my major, veterinary medicine , while I have made up my mind to do it, it is my own choice that I need to participate the GRE test, and I have found the anwser by critical thinking, Perhaps I have gave up this task if I donot thinking critically and independently.
Furthermore, In our current education system, placing much emphsise on the independence and individuality could help the students more easily confront their fiercely competitive job market than ever before. Nowadays, especialy during the glable financial crisis, there have become more and more fiercely competition in the job market. The employers could find out the optional candidates for their members of their creative work team, and all of the graduates factually are desiring to and aspiring to obtain the satisfactory job which is high salory and good work condition and environment. After all the employees' some indispensible qualities and dispotions could lay the solid foundation on their later job rather than their knowledge that students get during thieir learning process.
However, we place much emphsis on the students' critical thinking and independence, at the same time ,we also can not lose sight of the students' emotional quality, such socializaion, and communicationm, of course, the emotional qualities are not only include these factors, but also need to add others, such as persistent, fortitude, confidence, courage and honestly, when our children are frustrated by their grades or other failures, we can tell them about the story on the courage, the Voyage of Columbus, the charatersof Gorege Washington duriing the American Revolution, Abraham Lincoln during the civil war, when our children are confronting the difficulties in their school lives, We could tell them about the persitent in the face of the adversity, Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad.
Based on what I have analized above, We could figure out that these two factors are indispensable in the students's lives, Both the capabilities to think critically and the emotional qualities play the signifiant role in the development of the students.
