A nation has its character. A ethnic group has its spirit. The saying that a nation's characteristics can be best understood by observing its major cities. I must admit that part of this statement is true, while I can hardly agree to the rest . I believe that it's not the only way to get access to the characteristc of a nation.
Nowadays the society is the result of both the culture conventions and the modernlization. A nation' s major cities, which were merely built on the permise of most advanced technology and civilization, are those whose citizens are most influenced by the globalization. Which in another word, are those traditional conventions most rapidly diminishing . The reason for the damage of conventions is the shock of other cultures brought along with globalization. On the contrary, in rural areas where beyond the reach of globalization, social usages and people's attitude remain unchange.
However in fields such as economy and politics, major cities are among those most who are most representitive. As we all know , urban areas , especially those most developed , are
