Many people are optimistic of the 21st century and see it as an opportunity to make positive changes to the world. To what extent do you share their optimism? What changes would you like to see in the new century?

With
the coming of the 21st century, many people are optimistic about it, in my
opinion, I agree with them. I hope in the 21st century. We can solve these
problems which we cannot finish off now.
Firstly, the problem of the cure of disease. With
the development of science and technology, more and more diseases could be
cured - such as the common cold - hundred years ago, the little common cold was
fatally, but now, we can cure the common cold simply. Secondly, our
environmental problem, with the passage of time, the environmental
consciousness of us should be increased. For example, many years ago, in order
to develop, we were logging no control, it brought about lots of serious
environmental problems. With the increase of people's environmental
consciousness, many laws of environmental protection which restricts the
disruption were published, and our forests were recovery.
Certainly,
everything has two sides, these some negative problem with the arrival of the
21st century, such as excessive consumption of resources. But I believe we can
handle it very well by reasonable exploiting and scientific utilizing.
In
summary, to my way of thinking, we should be optimistic of the 21st century, I
believe the 21st century is more hopeful and powerful.
