I can never agree with this view that educational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed. First of all, what's the definition of success? Everyone has his or her idea: someone dreams to make lots of money; someone hopes to win the high social status; someone decides to devote himself or herself to the science study and someone just wants a stable job and a warm family. It's unreasonable for any institution or individual to dissuade even prevent students to change their own directions. Secondly,in my point of view, the success is out of our predictions. You can never define someone is failed before he or she gives up. The famous story of Edison, he tried hundreds and thousands times and finally invent the electrical light. I could image that no less than one person dissuaded him to give up, however, he was so stubborn to insisted and tried all kinds of materials. In the end, he got success! He lighted the whole world! Such events happened not only in science, but also in arts. International  famous pianist Langlang is a typical example. He started his piano life since 3 years. In order to get the top training, his father quitted the job and took him to Beijing. Besides the tough conditions, neighbors’ complaints and classmates’ laughing, worst of all, his piano professor predicted that it’s impossible for him to become a pianist and dissuaded him quit the dream and go back to hometown. His father fell into the mental breakdown and gave him three choices: going back to Shenyang, jumping from a high building or taking the poison. If Langlang and his father accepted the teacher’s assert to quit the dream, what will happen now? Langlang may become an ordinary worker; China will lose a famous piano talent; the world will lack some art and more and more students will give themselves up without the power of Langlang role model. Additionally, if educational institutions dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed, it will lead to most students to choose several popular majors, such as computer science, economics and finance. However after several years, too many talents flock in to these fields and their employment rates have fallen down. It will result in the unbalanced development of the society. Last but not least, the responsibility of educational institution is not only teaching students professional theories, but also delivering the right outlook on life and values to students. Schools should provide students with abundant and interesting courses in order to develop their interests and potential on study. Besides study, comprehensive qualities and abilities are vital to their future life as well, such as the sense of independence and term work and the abilities of self-study and getting along with others. Above all,Students have the right to make his own choice whether keep moving or changing his major. Of course, educational institution can give suggestions to help students make wise decisions.
