作文
Universities which requires students to take various subjects provide different experience to students compared with universities that require students to specialize in one subject. But to me, i think the former one is better. Because this way can help students to find real interests and can create more chances in the future career.
Before attending universities, students have no idea what those majors in universities really about. Only in universities can students have the chance to get in touch with different subjects and find out which one they really feel interested in. For example, when i was in high school, i thought i love biology just because i always did best in biology test, but after entering the university, i find there are many majors that are not related to one certain course and the scores do not directly mean the interests. What is more, there exists some genius who are interested in different fields. For instance, Thomas Jefferson, whose interests were boundless. He was a philosopher, educator, naturalist, politician, scientist and some others. If universities just ask students to specialize in one subject, then even if a person who is just like Thomas Jefferson cannot find his brilliant talents.
Additionally, learning more knowledge about different fields can advance the chance to get a good job. We always hear someone complain about what he does now is not he once majored in in universities. Actually, seldom can a undergraduate student can get a job which is exactly suitable to his major. So it is essential to get in touch with extensive knowledge. For example, Changxu Du is the CEO of an IT company. And at the same time he is a English teacher of New Oriental school. He has established a website about English learning skill which gets much benefits from his English teacher experience.
Finally, sometimes knowledge from other fields can help a person better understand what he is doing now. For example, an architect guider always asked his students to read more literature. Because he thinks reading can broaden one's view which is very important to design a building.
All in all, i think it is better to provide students more chances to get in touch with different subjects.
