With the development of science and technology, working pressure has been becoming considerable fierce nowadays. On the one hand, it is the choice of first job that make it difficult   for graduate to decide; On the other hand, an increasing number of people are no longer satisfied with their present job, which lead to job-hoping becoming a universal phenomenon. There are different opinions when people determine where to work. Some people prefer to working in a large scale company rather than a small one, because it is beneficial to the development of their future career and the specific goal for their whole life; while others hold the absolutely opposite attitude, they consist that small scale company has a worse working environment than the large one but young people can make themselves familiar with all kinds of things of their company and achieve better training. As far as I am concerned, working in a small company is better.
The first reason I want to put forward is that, as a graduate student , working in a small company, lacks of new employees in some particular fields, is definitely a great opportunity to participate in a variety of work, which is of tremendous benefit to the future career. If a freshmen fail to be competent in all kinds of jobs, he will be unable to demonstrate his working ability, which contribute to the limitation of choosing a job. Consequently, it may bring some negative results which can inspire him to dig out his working potential and spare no efforts in taking every job. For example, when one of my college classmate was employed by small company, as a result of being short of employees, all of the members of the company at that time had to do not only their own work but also others. At first, she had no confidence with herself and then kept on making mistakes at work. However, after trying her best to learn from colleagues/workfellows/co-workers, she overcame the barrier inside her heart successfully and accomplished/carried out/carried through every work assignment perfectly, which make her deserve for the compliment/praise given by her leader.
The second reason is that due to the increasing scale of a small company, there will be a growing number of business in all kinds of fields. It is the fact that business negotiations have benefits to a new worker, because they are helpful to train their communication skills and responses to the accidental/inadvertent/unpredictable situation and also good for employees who take different types of work to accumulate more precious experience and business resources from cooperators in another company, which can become the fundament/foundation of job-hopping or changing career. For example, making a negotiation with international company may be a challenge for small company’s member when the counterpart set barriers to them. No one can deny that this will make the employees improve their ability to respond greatly.
Another important reason for my standpoint is that everyone working in a small company as a team member is apparently encouraged by a strong sense of team spirit, they would love to help each other and attain the working target by all means together, at the same time, their friendship become increasingly stronger. Moreover, people in the team have a lot of chance to communicate with workfellows in their spare time, which is the best way to build up their interpersonal relationship.
Last but not least, even though working in a small company have a enormous number of advantages, there is still some aspects that are not as good as large company, such as the salary offered by big company is always higher than the small one, people in there may have a better opportunity to realize the pursuit of their future career.
In a word, from the following reasons I mentioned above, we may safely draw the conclusion that advantages of working in a small company far outweigh its disadvantages and it will still play a essential role in our career.
