Generally inadequate.The major we taken is a little unnilateral.Many majors have some more or less connections with other majors.If we just aquire the knowlege of our own major will narrow our minds.The learning of other majors can brodent our horizen and help us to consider in different ways,which can give us a better understanding to realize our own major.However,there are still some major that do not require more connection with other knowledge,for it is time-consuming.For example,atronomy science.
