A nation may,in order to be prosperous,need to improve its economy.A nation with steady and good economy can sustain and promote the well-being of its citizens.Many nations with a compatively good economy has done so through its cutting-edge technology.But exploring natural resources is also a good way to achieve this goal.However,wether a nation should pass laws to preserve remaining wilderness areas in their natural state is a contentious issue,some may agree with the claim,but some may not.I am more inclined to disagree with the claim if these areas can be developed for economic gain.First,the main purpose for a country is to find ways to improve the quality of life of its people.Economy,as a crucial factor for a country to thrive,should be improved.If there is abundant natural resources to be explored in an area,nations should endeavor to take good use of it.A wilderness area containing affluent resources of ore can be explored for ore mining.If the final purpose and result is good for the people and for the nation,why not do it?There is no reason to keep a wilderness in its natural state if we can get the things that are good for ourselves.In the contemporary world,resources has been dimishing due to the unreasonable abuses by human beings,it is true that we should be responsible for the present situation that we are facing.Global warming,increasing amount of carben dioxide in the atmosphere etc.If this trend keep going,if no new resources being found,ultimately,we run out of our resources.Besides,if we find out that a place is abundant with petroleum,we should develop it and explore it for economic benefits.Also,any wilderness,even if may not be able to be used as a natural resources,but if it itself is a natural and good place for the development of tourism.Thus can improve our economy,we should implement it.Many national parks in the United States can be seen as some natural wilderness areas.Yellowstone National Park is a good example.Considering its beauty in nature,it has been served to the benefit of tourism.Millions of tourists come the park to enjoy their vacation and embrace the beauty of nature.At the same time it facilitate the development of economy.Las Vegas,a city of enterntainment,a "sin ciy",a city in the desert,is also a good example that shows that it is important to exploit the things that can do us good.Las Vegas used to be a wilderness in the desert,before it become what it is today.However,with good exploration and appropriate development,a city was founded and well so developed.If people originally just keep it as what is was,it would be a loss to tons of the people in the world.Finally,considering the geological factors about any wilderness area,it would be wise to think before we decide wether to develop this place for economy or not.A lot of wilderness areas exist on earth in different places,some areas are really too remote or too unthinkable to be developed for the economic gain.Amazon jungles has many natural resources,but people never think of it as a good place for economic gain.It might be a natural place for scientific research in some specific fields of study,but there is no need to use for economy.In conclusion,taking into account all the above mentioned reasons i cannot agree with the assertion that a nation should pass laws to preserve any remainning wilderness areas in their natural state.If it can be used for economic gain and do no harm to the people and the nation,there is no reason that we leave it alone,but thinking about natural elements such as geological position, of some wilderness,it might be better we keep it as what it is.
