3. 教师的哪些素质会影响到大学的教学质量?这些素质哪些是学术方面的,哪些是非学术方面的?请举例说明。
回答: 素质:个人教养,其世界观人生观,学术态度,学习能力。
4. 教师花时间来研究与课程相关的非学术问题有什么好处?有什么弊端?请举例说明。
回答: 研究非学术问题不仅能提高教学质量和效率,提高学生的学术热情,在另一方面还能有利于教师自身学术能力的提高以及个人素质涵养,与他人沟通交流能力的提升。

The tasks for teachers of higher education are more than just teaching students knowledge, they should also possess the capability of communication and higher personal quality. Therefore, colleges and universities should encourage teachers to spend some time on professions that would improve themselves on these two requirements outside the academic world.
First of all, spending time on enhancing teachers' communication ability could increase the efficiency of teaching. It would not make a good teacher if the effective communication between teachers and students is absent, no matter how erudite the teacher is, for that teacher is unable to give the students what he/she learned. Take my teacher as an example. Professor Yan was once a teacher who did not enjoy much popularity among students. While he himself is an erudite scholar and won several national professional prizes, he did not educate any outstudents for the first few years when he began teaching. After a long time of introspection and learning from other teachers, he found out his point of failure: neglect of communication with students. From then on, he thought from the students' perspective, listen to what they need, and modify his teaching method. Now he is one of the most populary and highly respected professors in my school, some of his students even became excellent scholars as he is. Therefore, mastering the art of communication play a significant role in teaching.
Spending time on learning to communicate with others, on the other hand, is beneficial to teachers themselves, too. As the old Chinese saying goes, "closing the door and build the weapon by yourself will never make it". Academy is not about closing the door, studying and doing research by oneself, rather, it is about communicate and exchange ideas with others, henceforth find out one's shortcoming and advance oneself by aborbing others' ideas. If teachers are incapable of communicate with other scholars and researchers, they would be trapped in their own tiny world of academic and then could not give students a broad and objective knowledge in education.
Also, if teacher would spend some on enhancing their personal quality, establish proper outlook of life and world, it would considerably influence students' maturity and career. Teacher as the one of the most sacred professions in the world,  it is their responsible to be the guidence for their students to the right track of life. For this reason, teachers should put much attention on their personal quality and outlook. The most influencial teacher in my life, Mrs. Fan, is a lively example. She teaches me translation, but not only the theories and skills of translation. It is she who told me that study requires a clear mind and a persistant heart; it is she who told me that being a female does not mean weakness; it is she who told me that success not merely about money and luxuries, it is about being who you are and enjoy your own life; it is she who guide me to my current condition. Teachers should put emphasis on this aspect besides academics, since it would, to some extend, determine the students' career and outlook.
Although spending time working in the professions outside the academic world would bring plentiful benefits to teaching, it is still teachers' essential duty to taking their time on academies. Without academic attainments, it would not make a good teacher merely with the nonacademic abilities.
All in all, to effectively develop the quality of eduaction, cultivate remarkable students and train extrodinary teachers, colleges and universities should encourage teachers to spend some time on the professions outside the academic world.
