3. 教师的哪些素质会影响到大学的教学质量?这些素质哪些是学术方面的,哪些是非学术方面的?请举例说明。
回答: 自身的学术水平,讲课的能力,自身的阅历,能否全面地介绍所在领域的概况(大学老师任务是指导),其中第一个是学术方面的,后面的是老师个人的能力,可以通过各种方式培养eg:前面所述的老师,可以通过在校外做某些事积累实际经验,生动讲解课程,同时也有老师不需要eg:大学的另一个老师,凭自己的兴趣把该门课理解很透,也找到一种很适合讲解那个课的方法,同时多读书多涉猎,对业内发展也很有了解, 也可以
4. 教师花时间来研究与课程相关的非学术问题有什么好处?有什么弊端?请举例说明。
回答: 好处:从不同地角度看自己的学术问题,可能会有新的想法,新的理解;弊端:;浪费时间,同时可能导致课外过多,影响课程的正常教授eg有些老师只在外面~~~而校内的课程,方法内容都不更新,对学生不负责任

Teaching is a process of self-improving for the teachers themselves as well as instilling knowledge to their students and the academic record of students is undoubtedly linked to the teaching methods of the teachers, consequently, working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach are definitely beneficial to improve and renewe their teaching methods, fulfilling themselves as well. But to require all faculty to abey the regulation is not a wise decision for the various personalities and fields of the teachers. Thus I hold the view that colleges and universities should encourage their faculty to work outside but not require all of them to do so.Before evaluating whether the regulation will facilitate or impede the advancing of teachers' teaching skills, we first consider what influence that working outside the academic world may exert on the teachers. To broaden their vision and thus gain a more advanced and rich teaching materials is surely be the first benefit, however, the time is also wasted and some may ocuppy themselves in the work and ignore their jobs as a teacher. It is, then, obvious to see the advantagous effect for teachers to work outside the college- they may correlate their enormous specific knowledge with the practise, and then discovery problems about their systems of knowledge, helping solve problems at the same time. For example, an economics professor may chose to be a commentator in an on-line financial program in which he is able to reply to different questions from the audience and accumulate his own experience. When he comes back to the class, he possesses much advantage over other teachers for he can teach his students using so many actual and vivid cases, which will definitely accelerate students' learning.Requiring all teachers to work outside is a too strick rules and may obstruct the careers as a teacher in college of some preeminent people on the ground that they do not like to do that. There is an excellent teacher in my school of civil engineering, teaching the structure mechanics. He has taught the course for over 10 years and has read huge amount of books and papers on the subject and on how to teach the course well, therefore, he teaches the course in his own and specific way and becomes popular among the students. At the same time, he enjoys working as a pure teacher in the college and is unwilling to work outside the college. hence we can not deny that it is not necessary for such teachers to work outside the college.In addition, in respect to the realms like mathematics and theoretical physics, such rules is apparently unnecessary for most of the teachers work can be accomplished in their own office or in the laboratory, working outside can only waste their time and energy, and subsequently saps their enthusiasm to futher their researches in their original field. Take Einstein as an example, if the university where he worked required him to work outside the college, he must be rageous for he regarded the time for his reasearch so precious and the require beared totally nothing on his research.From what has been discussed above, the colleges may reconsider the regulation to ask all faculty to work outside the university, or they have to take into consideration the teachers' fields ant their own preference at least.
