本题改编自老GRE的ISSUE72"One can best understand the most important characteristics of a society by studying its major cities"。题目讨论了解社会特征的问题，给出的方法是通过研究其主要城市。需要大家把“城市”、“社会”、“特征”几个概念都细化并且紧密结合。分析的时候需要注意以下三点：
1、本题很容易因为使用ARGUMENT中“个例不能代表整体”的观点而跑题。要注意，题目所说的是“社会最重要的特征”而不是状况。
2、不要把视角限定在城市的固定事物中，城市之中的商业、人物、活动等等都可以包括进来。
3、讨论“best”的时候可以通过对比等方式进行，要注意论述始终要和“主要城市”有联系，不要偏离论述核心。

1. 大城市和小城市以及乡村之间有什么共性和个性？

共性：都是人类的居住地 住的都是一个国家的人
个性：大城市 快速发展 现代化程度高 生活节奏快
小城市 由于 发展速度没那么快 现代化程度较大城市较低 生活节奏也没那么快 所以保留一小部分 以前的建筑 习俗 等
乡村：如果是少数民族的偏远山村 那么 该少数民族的习俗可能会较好的到保存 在那里会有很浓重的少数民族文化。

这对于研究中国社会的文化 从了解中国社会的特征 有极大的帮助。
5. 在了解一个社会的过程中，对应上一问的各种方面，哪方面可以更简单得获得最多最新的信息？相比较而言，分析一个社会的主要城市是否是最有效的方法？

Coincidental with the characters of society changing is the development of social economy. I think that to understand the most important characteristics of a society, one must not study its major cities. It stands for the characters of a society that language, culture, architect, history, life style and spiritual things of people. And language, culture, history and ancient architect are all the most important characters. Chinese culture is one of all that unique remains of four great ancient cultures. And the Chinese culture has five thousand years and never discontinues. All of these are the most precious spiritual wealth. If you study a society, you can not leave its culture. So the culture is the alternate character of core. Besides the big cities, it can learn the characters of a society from some small cities which have their own things. A good example of this is Qufu. The Chinese 儒家思想 and conventional 礼教 are best preserved in Shandong Province, Qufu City. This city is not a big city. But 孔府, 孔庙 and 孔林 have the most 儒家的 character of all. Now Qufu holds the 仪式 of 祭奠 Kongzi. And the tourists who go to visit the 儒家的 culture are at May or October ten times even twenty times than the normal weekend. Every emperors皇帝 of China respect the Kongzi and his generations heavily. One emporer writes a article for Kongzi. And one architect in the temple of Kongzi copied the Taiheidian of Emperor Palace故宫. These are very helpful to study the culture of Chinese society so that it is better to understand the character of Chinese society.
