The usage of computers is extremely wide now, on average almost everyone in our community has a computer. And my classmates spend at least 4 hours on it searching for information, doing calculating and following the social network.  Admittedly,computers sometimes disturb our daily life and bring some troubles to us, but in general they benefit us in many fields.
First, computers help us save much time. For example, 10 years ago we must stand in line for more than one hour waiting for paying for the electric fee and the gas fee, but now we can use the bank online which just takes less than 30 seconds to finish the payment. Furthermore, in scientific researches, computers is also time-efficient. For instance, in my research, I test the materials by X-ray, and get a curve. Ten years ago, what I should do is going to the library to find the standard curve of more than 50 possible material and compare each of them with the curve I get, and then decide which matches best. But now all I do is importing the curve into a special program in the computer,and then the result will pop up in the screen automatically.
Secondly, computers make it easy for us to get knowledge. Imagine if it is 50 years ago now, and you are an artist who is crazy about oil paintings in Europe, but you live in China, what will you do? Probably, you will spend more than 20 hours flying there and go to the museums and galleries to watch those famous paintings with the overall cost of thousands of pounds for your flight, your accommodation and and your entrance. However, if it happens now, you can save all that money and time. There are many data libraries in the internet now, storing hundreds of art works. you can simply click into it and you will see all of them and you can even enlarge the picture or turn it into different facets to see all the details. It is much easier for us to learn the background and the other information about the painting.
Actually, computers have brought us some problems. For instance, we store all the information in our computers, and it happens when computers break down, we lost all of them, including the precious data in research. Moreover, computers make us sitting at tables for a long time without any movement, which is really bad for our health.However, the problems computers bring us above can be avoided. We can copy the important files in other hard drive as backup, and we also can force ourselves to take a little exercise between two tasks. So in my opinion, generally, computers make our life easier and more convenient, and it does benefit us a lot in many fields.
