Socialization, defined as an ability to consider and live independently and the skill to communicate and cooperate with others in the society, is of great significance for both individual development and social improvement. As a child, the process of growing up is closely associated with various kinds of education in order to make him adapt to society better, thus in turn making contribute to more developed society. Unfortunately, contemporary people seem to pay more attention to pure knowledge in education, instead of socialized skills.
Generally speaking, independent thinking patterns and the effective ways to make a living is responsible for personal life. Once a person fails to take his own views, he would be lost in the Sargasso Sea of information, without basic identification of what is beautiful and beneficial. Moreover, simply following the herd leads to deficiency in tastes, values and believes. For example, many consumers blindly follow the particular fashion style without caring about whether it is suitable. Such irrational conformability reveals lack of self-reliant judgments. Also, living independently, a guarantee of individual development, should be taken into account. It's hard to accept that a normal person does nothing but claims to rely on others for money or something else all his life.
As Aristotle put it, "man is by nature a political animal." Communication and cooperation, the linkage between individual and society, is another symbol of socialization. From ancient times, primitive people invented languages to communicate and cooperate, making tiny society to protect themselves from natural disasters and to live better with more food and other material. From generation to generation, As time goes by, the ways of connection develops to meet increasing need of people and cooperation seems to be more and more important because of the trends of specialization and large management of project. If we lead a life as autisms, who only concentrated on our own world, then the whole society may be paralyzed.
However, regardless of the importance of socialization, our education system fails to respond passively towards the trend. In China, the only judgment of one student is exam, with only one correct answer to one problem. Hence， challenge thinking is forbidden and teamwork rarely exists. All the students, no matter what you interested in, are trained in the same system and learn the same knowledge. Socialization education fades away from over-emphasis on such exam, cultivating students who could do nothing but get a good mark in the exam.
In conclusion, socialization is one of the determinants for individual and society destiny. If we continue ignore this factor in education, the children may suffer from the deficiency. What's more, the development and competitive power of society may also get stuck.
