The surest indicator of a great nation is not the achievements of its rulers, artists, or scientists. [Reason] The surest indicator of a great nation is actually the welfare of all its people.
It is commonly acknwledged that juding a nation is never an easy thing. So the only the achivements of its rulers, artists, or scientists or the welfare of all its people is not sufficient to be the indicator of a great nation. Besides that, as far as I concerned, we still nedd to know more about the nation such as history, location, customs and so on.
firstly,achievements of its rulers, artists, or scientists can not be ignored when we try to judge a nation. the Great nations always have a wise ruler. Because a knoeledgable ruler can make a decision more wisely without too many mistakes, which bring the nations a right direction to toward. Take Alexander for example, in an expending time, with an urger of seizing and knoeledge of war,Alexander occupied many places and the land of the nation had been expended greately. Since that, nobody can ignore the progress that Alexander made in the history of Macedonia. Next, when it comes to art, the first thing that spleed into everyone's mind is the Renaissance. During the Renaissance, due to the movement of artists, new forms of paints has been made to show the feelings to scioty. And because of that, peole began to consider about what they can do for their nation and themselves, which leads Italy to a new level of develpoment. Finaly, as we all know, sceience is the enegy of a nation. So once more and more new technologies have benn discoveried , more powerful and more powerful the nation will be.
Secondly, the welfare of all people in a nation will show a plenty of things including the develpoment of economic and the power of the notion. We have to admit that, the first obligation of a notion is make sure of prople's livelyhood. So whether people have a happy life or not can be an direct indicatior of a graet nation. Take Africa for instance, we all it is a poor place where many people can not even afford their food. And it is obviously that on the list of developed country, there is no Africa country.
Thirdy, there are many other things that can not be ignored as indicator of a great nation. For example history. history shows that how great the nation used to be, and what is the customs of their people. Accoding to history, we can get a better understanding of a nation, which can help us do the judgement more wisely.
From what have been mention above, it is not difficult to draw the conclusion that the two sides that mentioned in the argument are both very important to judge a great country. So we need combine them along with other essencial things, such as history.
