great changes have taken place in my hometown since before, like most people can take their own cars to work, whereas people living in the past can only ride bicycles towards their destination. however, accompanying this great change is the ensuing problems which lead to some harmful situations. if i were a mayor of the city, the most important thing i would have changed first is the traffic jam.my reasons are as follows.
first of all, most people get annoyed in the swarm of cars and people, which take them so many time to wait. if you were in my hometown, you would have been shocked by large numbers of cars filling the street during the rush hour.therefore, people lose their time to get work done and to go home for dinner. an illustrating example was my experience with so many automobiles accompanying with me, and we even have been waiting for 3 hours till everything has done. from that time, an thought came into my mind that this circumstance should be altered some day soon. if not, what changes bring us are not just benefits, but a series of harmful phenomena which could result in some uncomfortable problems just as headache.
second, since the rapid advance of city's traffic, nature has kept away from us on the contrary, people walking down the street could not see lots of green trees like before. what's worse, the amount of harmful gases has risen up to a peak, for example, everyone knows that ozone hole, so if more and more automobiles keep discharging the greenhouse gases such as CO2, our earth will become warmer which leads to the rise of sea level. similarly, gas like CO from vent-pipe  could cause severer disease,let alone NO,nowadays, not only my hometown,improving city's traffic has aroused public's concern,and many city managers are sparing no effort to lose down the burden of our traffic.
from my personally perspective,as a city designer, one thing i could have down is resist the personal car's use. for example, many large cities start to execute the policy that people are allowed to make use of their cars at specific time. additionally, more trees should be planted at two sides of the road,which could fetch us more fresh air.and if everyone could take the responsibility of building the city, my hometown's future will be better and brighter
