作文
Nowadays, some universities have required their students to take multiple courses in many different subjects, while other suggest that college students should specialize in one subject to become a professional person in their field. As far as I am concerned, I prefer taking many classes in many subjects to having only one subject to choose. There are three statement to support my opinion.
First of all, taking classes in many subjects help to broaden my horizen and show me a bigger blueprint in my future life. Let me take one of my own experience into account, during my fresh man year, I took a class which told me how to perform and communicate with others in public places, especially in some formal occasions. I learned a lot from this course and stood out during an international conference hold in my business school, mostly because I knew how to get along with foreigners and make them feel comfortable.
Secondly, I can make more friends who have different major backgrounds and weaving my own special relationship. For example, at one time, my computer crushed and all my homework and articles are in it, to make it worese, I had an assignment due the next day. So I called one of my friends I met in a computer programming class who is major in computer science, obviously, he helped me out. So, next to broadening my views, taking courses not in my major, sometimes, could save my life.
Thirdly, when I first stepped on the campus, I was really confussed and didn't know my career interest. By taking multi-subject courses, I could get to know more majors and chose among one of them to be my major.
However, every coin has two sides, specializing in only one subject make student more like a professional people than a person who knows everthing but cannot stand out in his field. And when people dig into one subject, he could have the advantage to make innovations.
But, the competetions between youngsters are getting more and more fierce. Having more knowlege means giving people more career choices and more opportunities. What's more, for a manager, he not only has to gain the skill in his professional field, but also is able to communicate with his employees and to deal with a hot potato within his company. From the above reasons, I stongly hold my opinion that taking courses in many subjects is better than specializing ing only one field.
