3. 基础教育阶段学生最应该学习和掌握的东西是什么?如果国家统一课程,对于掌握这些东西有什么好处?有什么弊端?请举例说明。
回答: 生活的常识和学习的方法。国家政府能够更好掌握学习的内容,方便统一更新修正内容。无法与当地的风俗习惯相结合。例如对内陆地区的孩子讲解海洋气候,只是停留在理论上,对沿海地区学生讲解内陆气候反之亦然。
4. 在基础教育阶段统一课程对于国家统治和管理有什么好处?有什么弊端?请举例说明。
回答: 能够更好实现国家的总体教育目标,便于教材的修订,需要学生学习的内容可以在全国范围内快速实现,例如中国学生都必须学的思想品德课程。不利于充分利用各地的教育资源,有些地方可以学习其他外语但没有得到允许,有些地方根本不满足口语和听力的练习设备,但是还是要开课。
5. 如果各地自己决定基础教育阶段的课程内容,对于学生的培养有什么好处?有什么弊端?请举例说明。
回答: 学生能够最大程度享受当地的教育资源和当地文化。例如能够更好了解本地的历史文化,当地的博物馆、历史建筑是最好的教育基地。弊端是发展差距大的地区之间,教育差距也会扩大。比如上海能够提供橄榄球课程,但是偏远地区连标准的体育场也没有。
6. 如果各地自己决定基础教育阶段的课程内容,对于国家统治和管理有什么好处?有什么弊端?请举例说明。
回答: 国家政府可以减少这方面的支出,不同地区的反对意见也会减少。但有些地区培养的学生可能达不到国家的需求,或是教育资源分配的矛盾扩大。

The claim that a nation should require the same national curriculum for students until they enter college implies that the same curriculum will not pose any detrimental impacts on students’ developments. In my view, however, one cannot deny that until now education is a tool that serves certain purpose designed by human. Disastrous effects my follow if a nation underestimated the importance of curriculum diversify. Admittedly, the statement that a nation keeps the same national curriculum for its students before enter college holds certain merit in some aspects. First, the same curriculum will benefit to keep fair education quality. For instance, in some big countries, education developments between places are different. And government should ensure every student can receive fair education. Moreover, the same curriculum will ensure students could learn basic skills that nation needs. It is inappropriate, even cruel, to constrain students’ classes within state needs. The perspectives above, however, are far from sufficient for justifying the statement that the same curriculum is needed. Today, the prime job of education is cultivating students’ creations. So the nation should plan a curriculum that gives students enough places to discover their potential abilities. For example, the overall number of talents in China is less than that of average over the world. The study shows that the requirements in school have occupy all time of students. Students even have no time to do something they are interested. Some people may argue the idea that the same curriculum is beneficial for government to control the teaching process. Such position sounds righteous and compelling. However, an in-depth examination will reveal follow problems. First, the world is running in a remarkable speed. This means students should recharge themselves by exposing wilder knowledge in order to facing future challenges. The same curriculum will give students a lot of stress that they have to attend some classes boring. Second, a nice education is a personalized education. Not everybody wants to be a scientist, or not everyone needs to be an engineer. Diversify careers is students’ personal need, and it is also the social need. For instance, this society needs great creators like Steven Jobs, and it also requires great economists like Milton Friedman. In sum, a nation should keep free education in order to accentuating society process. Nevertheless, in some conditions, we should also admit that the same curriculum in basic is needed.
