Yes,the curriculum in our nation before college is uniform.I concede this patter is useful,for fundamental knowledge and basic pattern of thinking are necessary which could improve the quality of communication and education in college.
Math,is a good example of it. Every student pay their attention on mathematics before they enter universities. Math is original course for other subjects.

回答：
Branch of Art and Science.
I considered it as a useful step before entering the college. Branch of Art and Science offer a chance to choose which subjects they are good at for students.
Advantages:
It's the first important choice in that period of time for them to choose. Let them have a conscience about which direction they are in favor of.
Disadvantages:
It narrow the fields of view,perhaps before entering the college ,students' choices is declined to which subjects they are good at rather than in favor of.
