I do agree with the statement that the ability to adapt to the new environment accounts more in a mission than the excellent knowledge. when we are faced with a problem in job, only excellent knowledge are not adequet.we need colleagues to brainstorm new ideas. We have to rely on and concentrate others' workforce and intellegence. So we must firstly adapt to the social and natural environment and try to build good personal relationship with colleagues as business man or with professors and classmates as student.Take myself as an example. I transmited my major from statistics to economic during college. So I was faced with new classmates and new professors. I used to get good grades in subject related to economic. But because I was not familiar with new class atmosphere and the new style of professors, I felt not well in leaning. And because I was the fresh one in the class, nobody would lika to join me as a group when we need to coorperate in doing research or presentation. It felt very upset during the begining of the semester. Then I got over my shynees and tried to make friends with my classmates and be active in the lecture. During weekend, I often invited classmates and professors to my apartment to have a fun party. gradually I felt they are more friendly with me and I got everything done more eaiser. I got good grades and learned a lot. So this incidence teach me a lession that we should adapt to the social environment before we start our careers.admittly in some cases we do need academic knowledge or skills when facing specific problems. An accountant need good knowledge to keep acounts right. An engineer require excellent knowledge in math to model the the specific problem and abstract its essence. A biologist and geologist must remember the principles necessary in surviving in wild environment so that they can refrain danger.But in most cases of life, in most kind of jobs, we can conclude that adapting to the enviorment is more important than excellent knowledge, because we are parts of the social network and we need others to coorperate with.
