material science and engineering
选修课选择了multimedia,学习一些知识可以在以后的学习中更好的向别人展示自己的研究成果；
basic economics，了解一些经济学原理，并且在日后的时间规划中运用一些其中的理论；
literary reading,扩充知识面，锻炼思维，improve personal culture
2. 从大学生现在以及以后的学习、工作、生活的各种需求来看，哪些能力或者知识是他们需要具备的？这些知识和能力需要通过怎样的教育形式来获得？
回答：
1.除了所学专业或者工作上所需要的专业，现在的company更希望employee有计算机的基本技能和好的英语水平，这些知识可以通过选修课上的学习，也可以通过自己的额外学习与应用obtain
2.领导能力，与人交流的能力，organizing abality， 通过参加student union，part-time job，等活动学习
3. 仅学习自己专业领域的课程对大学生来说是否足够？如果是，请说明理由；如果不是，这样的行为对大学生的发展有哪些局限性？
回答：
不是。如果只是学习自己的专业知识而忽略其他领域的课程，即使是做本专业的研究工作，依旧会对未来的发展产生影响。
很多其他领域的知识不需要涉猎很深，但需要有大概的了解，如果不会使用multimedia，就无法很好的展示自己的研究成果；不会English，无法阅读外国文献（document），无法在知名的刊物publication上发表自己的研究；没有leading abality就没有办法高效地领到team进行研究...
4. 自己专业领域外的其他课程可以带给大学生哪些影响？（可从正面影响、负面影响以及直接和间接影响来考虑）
回答：
正面：常用的computer skills和English level可以帮助更好地学习和展示专业知识。
负面：过于专注专业领域外的科目而忽视了自己的专业知识，导致专业知识的荒废。
直接：扩展知识面
间接：了解其他领域的知识，发现相比于自己本专业更为感兴趣的subject
5. 社会如何定义“人才”的标准？大学教育应该如何设置课程才能更好地培养“人才”？请举例说明。
回答：
有专业知识或专门的技能，进行创造性劳动并对社会做出贡献的人
学校除了设置专业课程外，还需要对学生进行品德教育（education of morality），这样才不至于反社会（antisocial）

One of the best ways that parents can help their teenage children to prepare for adult life is to encourage them to take a part-time job.
Passing through the path from teenage to adult, generally the children will confused and complicated. On this path, troubles and hardships may make them feel too tough to overcome. But it can be easier for them if they had done some preparations before becoming adults. In this case, the ideas from parents are essentially important. It is an excellent idea for parents to encourage their children to do a part-time job as a preparation.
Teenager neither those who are too young to have their own ideas nor those who are old enough to have their own social experiences. Because of this, the ways they think of life may be too premature to be practiced. One of my mother's student is a good example for this. She is so smart that once had an opportunity to go to an excellent high school, but she did not because she want the school as near as possible from home. In this case, she was the top student in her high school which made her played computer games all day long rather study the subjects. At the end of the first year, she did not have enough points to enter next year's study. Faced two choices: one is to study the first year's knowledge again and another is to leave the school, she chose the latter. She spent a very tough year to search for jobs which can earn a living herself. Years latter, she came to my mother's office and cried. She said that the society is too too hard to make a living expecially for her who does not have any knowledge. She asked for a chance to back class. Three years later, she got an admission from a top university in China. In my point of view, if she had do some part-time jobs before the issue she faced, she might not to choose the latter choice. Fortunately, she had a chance to back class, otherwise, she might live harder for her all life.
