Our society is becoming more fast-paced and material as the ecomomy and other industry has quickly developed, nevertheless the problem of environment and loss of species are more serious. Some people argue that we should protect every animal and plant nomatter what we cost, while the others believe that we neednot pay much effort preserving endangered species. However, I believe that it is limited for us to protect every species, and what we can do is to balance between environment protection and development of economy.
Admittedly, we donnot have enough time. In the contemporary world, every second counts, which means that time can make a profit to some extend. If we devote everyone's effort and time into protecting animals and plants, it is obviously an obsurd situation in which the society can never develop and never be flourishing. Whereas it is not an excuse that we make no effort for environment. As long as we garantee the ecosystem, we human beings can have a bright future.
Then, although protecting is not the dominant career for humans, only when people protect the environment, will there be little problems in the future. Human society exist from generation to generation, which means that we need to have a longterm consideration. Chinese people have built natural reserves for panda because panda have high values for reserch and pandas are the kind of species who are hard to survive at their early age. It really have longterm benefits for the reason that animal preservation can make contribution to the field of pharmacy, biology, archaeology, arthropology and even sociology.
If we are indifferent with the situation that many species will die out, there will be a sery of chain reaction afterward. The blance in ecosystem will be damaged because animals and plants are related with each other. Some animals are benefical for people,for example, spiders will make nets and stick insects that are harmful for corns and other crops. Frog which lives in the lake or waterpoll can catch insects as well. In the old time without pesticide, these animals are balancing our echology.
In conclusion, without various animals living in our environment, people will not live long because of the chain of ecology. Although it is significant and urgent to make environment preservation, it is unnecessary to protect every species. The first thing we need to do is to clarify whether the animals are useful and what roles they play in the ecosystem. If time is limited, we can protect those who are close related to humans first.
